Obliteration

We were too young to know what love was -
I had built up all the walls,
and you had tried to climb across
but all you found was
thorns and glass shards of a previous hurt;
a previous love.

Time stood still,
as we stood across from each other -
our love frail;
our promises trail-ing
behind us,
memories fad-ing
and we both cried.

This love had died.

//

Our love -
to the world it burns brightly -

But it died long ago.
