Hi guys! (: Sorry for not updating for 1 week. I've been really busy lately and I just came back from a 3 day 2 night BSP Camp which was really fun, crazy, high and amazing. It's honestly one of the most memorable camps I've ever been to apart from OBS and I'm still having BSP camp withdrawal symptoms now ):
I wanted to not go for BSP camp at first because I was really tired of the idea of going to camp and I thought it would be really boring but it turned out to be the complete opposite of that. Even though I wasn't exactly that happy with my BSP camp grouping at first cos I didn't know anyone from my group except for 1 whom I'm not close to, I'm actually really glad that I'm in that group now(: So basically, we have 4 different schools attending the BSP camp: DHS, NYGH, HCI and RVHS, which means that we got to mix around with people from different schools and get to make friends with them. It's a really cool and good experience, and the funny thing is that instead of being closer to those from my school, I'm closer to those from NYGH especially this girl called Hui Xian (: Really grateful that I got to know her and be close to her cos she's really nice and really funny!
Hui Xian, though you most probably won't read this, I just wanna say thank you for being such a great and wonderful friend to me for the past 3 days. It's been a really memorable, fun and crazy 3 days, and I'm really glad to have gotten to know you. Thank for accompanying me, sitting beside me in the dining halls, and talking & joking with me during the really boring lectures so that we won't fall asleep. Love you to the moon and back xoxo <3
Day 1 of BSP camp was really boring at the start cos things were really awkward at first since we just got to know each other. The 2 lectures which lasted for 2 hours each just added to the boredom and I was starting to regret going to BSP camp but that thought disappeared when we started to play night games and our group started to bond(: Then after night games, we had a debrief session before we went to our dorms. Speaking of dorms, their dorms were really clean and I really liked it. The bathing facilities were really clean too, so it's one of the cleanest camps I've ever been to.
Day 2 of BSP camp was the best day ever. Had breakfast then we watched a movie which was really nice and sad. I was holding my tears back so I won't cry in front of everyone towards the end. Then after that we had a lecture on the movie and we started to analyse the difference between the Chinese Culture and the Western Culture. Then we separated into our different schools to prepare for the school performance which will be performed at night during the 文娱晚会 and we did the dance we did for UG day in year 1. Though I'm no longer in guides, I can still vaguely remember the dance but then at the same time, I forgot most of the dance steps. When 文娱晚会 started, it was kind of boring at first, but then it started to get funny and the atmosphere became really high. When my group had to go out to perform, I was trying really hard to not burst into my laughing fits cos some parts of it was just so damn funny. Then we had our school performance which was a whole lot better than I expected it to be. When we started to sing 朋友, the atmosphere seemed to hit the highest point cos everyone in the audience started to form "trains" and run around. When our performance ended, we had to do a cheer and I completely embarassed myself cos I said one part of the cheer wrongly and everyone doing the cheer heard it bleh. BUT, I could care less cos it was fun in the end and I had a good time laughing at it with my friends afterwards. Everything from then on was just damn high and I was just jumping around like mad and screaming/shouting and singing with my friends, and I honestly had a lot of fun. I've never been this high in my entire life, and I had the best night of my entire life, last night, ever. And for the first time then, I felt myself forgetting all my problems for that period of time and I felt truly happy because I could smile and laugh without effort. When was the last time I was this happy? Really thankful for the fact that I went for BSP camp'13. Like honestly, really thankful(:
Day 3 of BSP camp (today) was kind of sad cos we're going to leave each other and go back to our daily lives and the fact that we only just got to know each other better just makes it even more sad. But, I can honestly say that I had the time of my life there at BSP. I might not have learnt much from the lectures cos they were just honestly really boring but I think that what was most important was the fact that I gained new friendships, something which is much more valuable than anything. We had a lot of debriefs today and we wrote notes of appreciation to each other. The notes I received were really sweet and I'm gonna cherish them all(: Thank you guys for everything you've done for me and thank you for being so accepting and so nice and fun to be with. I had a blast with you guys for the past 3 days and though we've left each other already, I really hope that we'll all look back time and again to BSP camp'13 and think of the good times we had at this camp with our friends and with Group 15. I didn't say much to you guys during the debrief session cos I didn't have enough time to collate all my thoughts and I found it really hard to express myself in chinese. There are actually a lot of things that I wanna tell you guys, but I'll just sum it up in one sentence below:
"It doesn't matter if we're miles apart. There's no distance in friendship."
Thank you Group 15, 食物. I love you guys<3
